I’m a writer and filmmaker born, raised, and based in the Bay Area. I am soon to graduate from California College of the Arts with a BFA in film and a minor in writing and literature.

My life has consistently revolved around empowering groups of women, ever-expanding my idea of family. Growing up attending a female-led dance studio and an all-girls school, I consistently sought familial relationships in expanded areas of my life. As a filmmaker, I harness these transformative relationships to capture my fascination and deep-seated appreciation for the feminine. Combining a documentary style with personal narrative, I bring an intimate lens to stories of myself and other women to exhibit the depths of female connection.

Having spent the entirety of my childhood dancing, movement and form are quintessential to my interactions with the world. I lean heavily on rhythm, often counting aloud to myself during filming and editing. The materiality of the work becomes an extension of the stories I tell. Stylistically, I employ stop-motion and archival footage to invoke a palpable sense of nostalgia. By implementing physical material throughout production, hence bringing tangible elements into a digital space, I aim to tell an emotionally and visually textured story.

Captivated by correlations between the natural world and the feminine body, my work expands to incorporate environmental subjects. Categorized as the “mother” in an ecosystem that in many ways seeks to destroy them, women and the natural world undergo incessant socially accepted cycles of destruction. I explore this tension between creation and destruction, foregrounding their beauty in resilience and intrinsic connections.
